Louise Achey, PharmD – Pharmacology Faculty
Louise loves to teach. She received her PharmD from Idaho State University and has been a pharmacist for 26 years, 13 of which were spent in a hospital pharmacy and 12 at CWFM. Her interests lie in pharmacokinetics and herbal products. She coordinates the pharmacology curriculum and maintains an active teaching role with residents. Louise is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacology with the Washington State University College of Pharmacy and teaches in the University of Washington MEDEX program. She and her husband, a fire commissioner, live in a log home in the nearby mountains, where they enjoy hiking. They have a grown daughter and Louise has 2 Scottish terriers. A former EMT and firefighter, Louise plays the violin and Irish harp. She loves living in the Yakima Valley because it’s out of the traffic, out of the rain, and close to everything else.
